Les Brumes du Coude is a Michelin- worthy restaurant in Moncton

Founded in December 2014, Les Brumes du Coude is a 40-seat restaurant located in a former classroom of the Aberdeen School, which became the Aberdeen Cultural Centre in 1986. Located in downtown Moncton, the Aberdeen Cultural Centre is a historic building that houses several cultural organizations and artist studios, and is an important gathering place for the artistic community in southeastern New Brunswick. In 2017, the centre acquired a 50-seat cultural terrace that is managed by Les Brumes du Coude during the summer season. Moncton is known for its Petitcodiac River, which means “bending like a bow” in Mi’kmaq. The Acadians who settled there in 1733 called the area Le Coude because of the meandering, brown river where the mists of the marshes are buried. Moncton is still nicknamed Le Coude to this day . While it might seem obvious that the name Les Brumes du Coude would be inspired by the history of the city of Moncton, that is not necessarily the case. Les Brumes du Coude has a very different meaning for chef-owner Michel Savoie, who explains the term as a description of what inspires him in the kitchen: the hazy smells of simmering dishes, the steam that comes from physical exertion, or elbow grease. Les Brumes du Coude is a sought-after destination that offers generous, fair and perfect cuisine, in the spirit of a French bistro. Inspired by seasonal local and sea products, chef Michel Savoie invites you to spend pleasant moments around a table to share his culinary memories. Thus, you will find a mix of French, Acadian and other culinary traditions. There is always something new to discover at Brumes du Coude because just like the menu, the wine and cocktail menu is constantly evolving. The Brumes du Coude team will be happy to welcome you to this lively, warm and friendly space. How to find them: Located on the first floor of the Aberdeen Cultural Center (please use the Botsford Street entrance). 140, rue Botsford street, suite 19
